ŞຖคiliคŞ — You I We

The debut ŞຖคiliคŞ record has arrived. After about two years of diddling and dilly-dallying, you can now receive You I We into your brain orifice.

ŞຖคiliคŞ is a brainchild of Kirk Benttinen and me, as is most of the weird art I’ve taken part in making. It’s an outgrowth of our collaboration on Portal; after we realized how fun making records is, we wanted to learn how to do it ourselves so we could afford to do it ever again.

Our first recording retreat resulted in five demos. We brought some of those tunes, as well as some new ones, to the sequel to the festival where Portal was conceived. The crappy nighttime photos at the end of this album are of ŞຖคiliคŞ’s debut performance. That’s Phil Adams on guitar and Donno Ruggeri on keys. Not long after that set, we descended upon Glocester, Rhode Island to make a record at Donno's H3O Productions. You I We is the result. It was a long beginning, but you can trust that the first ŞຖคiliคŞ record is just that.

I barely made it, but I've now released an LP a year for the past three years (if you count producing). Making records remains the most fun thing I know how to do. I make no promises, but this feels like a streak I have to keep up.
